My Face

That's me in the picture. I'm a mechanical engineer with a background in robotics and mechatronics. I may be at the beginning of my career, but I've been building things for a long time and I love getting my hands dirty in the shop, in addition to practicing the more analytic side of the art.

I'm interested in electromechanical systems, rapid prototyping, fluid flow, and learning new things! Right now, I'm at Tavis Corp. helping supply pressure transducers for all your demanding aerospace and high reliability needs! Check us out, all the cool aerospace kids use Tavis transducers.

In my free time, I like to hike and mountain bike, play the guitar, and build projects that force me to learn something new. Most recently, I've been experimenting with a new skill: photogrammetry! Check out these bucket seat adapters I made using this unique tool!

Experience and Education

Mechanical Engineer at Tavis Corp.

August 2023 - Present

I guess this is the big leagues! It's been a steep learning curve transitioning from the wild west of the startup environment to a company with 50 years of history, but I'm excited to be a part of cool missions alongside big names like Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, and NASA.

ME Intern at Advanced Farm Technologies

January - June 2023

At AFT, I got to be a part of the cutting edge of automated strawberry processing. Getting to see hardware that I helped create operating for a client was pretty neat! My biggest takeaways from the experience were a better understanding of the testing and improvement process, documentation and BOM creation, and a huge leap forward in my fabrication chops!

Graduated Cal Poly

December 2022

Earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Mechatronics. Advantages of a Dec. graduation: it wasn't hot. Disadvantages: it was raining.

Freelance CAD

September - December 2022

I drew and modified a number of models for my client Veritas Vans using Fusion 360. My favorite project was adapting an existing cabinet model to fit a Ford Transit using 3D scan data. The most challenging part was accurately quoting each job. CAD can be full of surprises!

Shop Assistant at Veritas Vans

July - September 2022

Helped build custom camper vans by sanding and painting plywood, assembling cabinets and accessories, and keeping the shop organized.

Shop Assistant at Studio Cortez

June - September 2021

Designed sheet metal parts using SolidWorks and fabricated them using a waterjet, brake, and other shop tools. Developed a range of tool racks for the Wall Control pegboards which were implemented both at this shop and the other location.

Transferred to Cal Poly

August 2020

Sad to leave SBCC, but excited for what lay ahead! I had completed most of my General Education, so from here on, it was full speed ahead!

Recreation Staff at Forest Home

August 2018 - June 2020

Worked with a team and solo to lead high adventure activities for guests, such as zip-lining, rock climbing, and archery. During warmer months, functioned as lifeguard. Also helped clean, maintain, and repair the facilities.

Enrolled at Santa Barbara City College

August 2017

Off to college! I had some really excellent professors here that encouraged me in my studies. Many thanks to them!
